Window Treatments!

I can't take full credit for the creation of these things! While I schemed up the idea, it was my mother in law that sewed it all together. Can't tell that these things were pieced together, but it was the only way to get curtains that were nearly 10 feet long (without a costly custom job)...my great room is finally starting to feel finished!

Photo Shoot

I've been given some opportunities to practice some photography. I love this new hobby, but am easily frustrated with less than perfect shots. I need to immerse myself into books on lighting, camera settings and other little tricks.

Pumpkin Raffle

Here were my contributions to our school's PTO pumpkin raffle. I did it because I like doing them and the kids enjoy it too. I must say, though, it is getting harder to enjoy some of these little extras when you feel unappreciated....I know that the kids and some parents do, (at least ONE that I know of, for sure) but administration in our district doesn't seem to...oh, well. I think that they are cute...(remember I set this blog up so that I can express myself...it may not be what others want to hear, but it is what is on my mind!)

Children with Hair Loss

BEFORE
DURING

AFTER

I have been saying I wanted to donate my hair and today I did it! I haven't had my hair cut in over 2 years. Children with Hair Loss was having a cut-a-thon at Sam's Club. Free hair cuts with an 8 inch donation. I did it. The guy who cut my hair said that I definitely got the prize for the thickest hair. He was able to make 8 pony tails (about 8 inches long) with my hair. Here's a few pics from today.

Moderating comments

I had to set my blogger so that I have to approve any comments coming to my blog....Well, I had to do it...I was getting spam type comments....I just can't understand why there is so much crap in this world!

If she only had a heart....

I know, I'm bad. It was not intentional that Jenna happened to be the one character from the Wizard of Oz that didn't have a heart...I was thinking more that if she really didn't want to be a Tin Man, she could pass for an Ice Princess. Either way, it suits her. I really do love my daughter, she is just a challenge. I have enough challenges in my life; I wouldn't mind one less.

Anyway, here is Jenna's costume. Taffeta is less than easy to work with...it snags often. It doesn't help when I just free handed this (no pattern) One side ended up longer so it doesn't lay real well...there is wire in the bottom, giving the hoop look, but that wasn't easy to work with either....the hat is a funnel covered with material...it doesn't stay on her head real well, but it will work well enough! Anyway, for a job that only took a couple hours, not too shabby....

Jack of all Trades....

I decided to make the kids costumes this year (I'm too cheap to pay $30 or more dollars)...so yep, I scrap, I photograph (I try anyway), and I sew (sorta)....Here is the costume....

My little BUGgers!

Well, here it is...the last of my tattoos. Four kids, four tats....I just love my bumblebee. Of course it is new and pretty...I'm sure it will fade out like the others. I think that I may have the kids' names tattooed around their 'bug'....you know what they say about tattoos right? You can't get just one! They are addictive!

My New Toy

Here is my big purchase...of course I shouldn't have spent the money, but I've been wanting a new camera for a year. I finally broke down and got it and I LOVE it! (pictures are courtesy of Jillian)

A measure of success

To me, a measure of a productive summer is getting caught up with my scrapbooking. Unfortunately, due to the set backs with Nathan's birth and then nearly 2 years of trying to sell our Woodhaven house, I am WAY behind....So I do not feel entirely successful, but I do feel accomplished. Here are the pages I managed to scrap this summer. Some are duplicates since I scrap for all of my children, but still are pages completed regardless....Of course, not pictured are the TWO baby albums I completed. Once I give them, I'll post a picture of them.

Diaper Cake

Now that Maria had her shower, I can post these pictures of the diaper cake I made. I found directions on You tube and just used my own items. The inside is made from 48 diapers rolled up and put together with rubber bands. All else is tucked or safety pinned in place. I was pleased with the way it turned out. Not too shabby for my first time!

Work in progress

I am planning on using this blog as a creative outlet for myself. My other blog focuses on my loves of my life, but this one is all about ME!!! What my thoughts are, what I am doing and what I enjoy (other than my beautiful children). Yes, you may see them here, but only to show case something I am working on or have accomplished.
